DIY plumbing can be done by following procedures at home:

  1. Water leakage sealing:

Ensure before beginning any plumbing work  that water is turned off at the main. To seal a leakage you will need a metal brush, a cloth, a stanely knife, medium grit sandpaper, methylated spirits and anti leaked tape.Carefully wipe down the pipe. Clean it with medium grit sandpaper, scrub  it with a  metal brush to remove possible traces of paint or rust. Rub the pipe with methylated spirits, leave it for 5 minutes to evaporate. Wind the antileap tape all the way around the duct, stick it on around the pipe in a spiral shape. Let it dry for few minutes and turn the water on. Then clean the pipe with cotton fibre. Place it right on the leakage area.Let it stick to the pipe by flattening. Leave the pipe to dry for 24 hours to finish. Take a sharp look at it.

  1. To fix a running toilet:

There are some DIY plumbing guide lines for better solution of  a continuously running toilet. The tools required are a pair of wire cutters, flathead screwdriver and a philips head screwdriver. Observe the flatter by pushing it down with a stick. If  it stops, it means flapper is not sealed properly, it must be replaced. Adjust the float if necessary to stop the running water. If there is a hole in float then it must be replaced.

  1. To fix a clogged sink:

Take off the drain pipe down below to fix a clogged sink. Remember not to turn on the faucet. Place a basket down the goose neck to avoid the drainage of smelly water.  Loosen two rings that are present on either sides of goose  neck, just slide this neck down to remove it out.You can see hair and some other dusty material that may have caused the blockage of sink pipe.Clean the pipe and goose neck with the help of a piece of paper or cloth. At the end fix the cleaned neck pipe with upper and lower rings. After fixing pipes just open the faucet to check the flow of water running out though sewage pipe.
